10/31/12 & 11/1/12 am "Steady Eddie 5k Row"

10/31/12 Sleep 9:30p-5:30a + 2 hr nap

One of my favorite Lloyd pics from winter 2007 in NY!

HRV 80/red. Felt fine upon waking, but started to feel really fatigued mid-morning. Corey also feeling off.

Walked dogs on hilly loop for 45min mid-morning. Then slept/read from 2-4p before coaching the evening. Energy much better in evening.

Food: First day that I'm making a point to get 160+g of protein even on a rest day. I was concerned on how I was going to make this happen w/out recovery shakes, as I don't take those on rest days. It forced me to eat much earlier in the day than I am prone to do. I was chewing on a pork chop as I prepped for the day. Needless to say when I focus in on something I usually get it done. 138gF, 135gC (over 100g w/out ice cream or shakes! but that doesn't mean I'm stopping the ice cream altogether just yet. it's working for me thus far. :)) 178gP: 2475 total cals. Felt very satisfied.

Not really sore today with exception of t-spine erectors from the heavy HPC on Tuesday PM.

11/1/12 Difficulty getting to sleep last night. May have had to do with my afternoon nap, as I have not been napping regularly for several months. Or the reading I was doing could have got me thinking a bit too much while trying to drift off. In bed by 9p by may have been 11p by the time I was asleep. First woke up at 430 & then fell back asleep until 6:30ish...45 min before alarm.

 HRV 88/green

 Coached 830-1030
5k easy effort row @ 11:30 Much better today than the easy 5k on 10/22. Despite still feeling sore/stiff in t-sp I didn't have any issue in staying on the rower for the duration.

Meter Pace/500m S/M HR

5000m 2:20.8 28 164

I secretly kind of enjoyed this.  I don't think I've EVER said that about anything having to do with the rower.  Ever.  I found a rhythm and yeah...I enjoyed it.  I find it much more enjoyable when I can just hold a pace.  It sits well with my brain.  I even wanted to pick it up with just over 1k to go, but held back, as there is work to be done tonight.

Onward!
